According to the allegations, Cherfilus-McCormick misused an overpayment of roughly $5 million in disaster relief funds by funneling them into her campaign. Her family's health care business received the money from FEMA. The lawmaker has denied all wrongdoing. The committee was expected to determine her punishment at a later date.
